EMERGENCY SHELTER

The Emergency Shelter program provides immediate placement for a child who is initially entering the custody of the Department of Children’s Services (DCS), or a child who has emergency disputes in a placement and needs short term care.  This service does not usually exceed thirty (30) days in duration. Emergency Shelter programs work to stabilize a child before they are moved to a permanent placement.  A child in this placement attends the on-site school.
