FOSTER CARE WE NEED YOU

Why do we need foster parents?

When crisis occurs in the home and a child has to be separated form his/her family, a foster home is needed until the child can be reunited with their family.

How do you become a foster parent?

Call or visit our office.  A Case Manager will provide you with general information about our foster care program.  An application will be provided for you to fill out.

What will it cost you?

It will cost you a little time, love, and patience.  The Tennessee Children’s Home will pay you a boarding fee for each child placed and provide other support as outlined in our Program Manual. Medical expenses are taken care of as well.  The Tennessee Children’s Home will assign a Case Manager to you, who will be available 24/7 to provide encouragement and assistance as needed.  The Tennessee Children’s Home will provide you with all required training to be an approved foster home.

How long will a child be in your home?

The length of stay may vary from a few days to a year or longer. The ultimate goal is to return the child to his/her home, if possible.  If the child’s home is not an option, he/she may stay until his/her 18th birthday or as you choose to have him/her in your home.
