Parenting....a Joy, a Blessing, a Challenge!
We never know the love of our parents for us till we have become parents. - Henry Ward Beecher
Where parents do too much for their children, the children will not do much for themselves. - Elbert Hubbard
Parents are the bone on which children cut their teeth. - Peter Ustinov
There never was a child so lovely but his mother was glad to get him asleep. - Ralph Waldo Emerson
The following quote comes from a Knoxville Tennessee News Sentinel newspaper published on January 16, 1999. The column was written by Deborah Mathis, a columnist for Gannett News Services and is titled "BY THE TIME WE'RE GRANDPARENTS, WE'VE LEARNED PARENTING"
...I have come to one rock-hard conclusion: You don't get the hang of the child-rearing business until after your're a grandparent. It's the balance of nature. Parent begets child, child drives parent nuts, parent drives child nuts, grandparent makes parent feel guilty, grandparent makes child feel great, grandparent feels super. Then the child becomes the parent, the parent becomes the grandparent and the cycle starts anew. For each, a season of heaven and a season of hell. - Deborah Mathis
